Perfect and excellent location, I enjoyed almost everything.

All in all - had a wonderful 1 night stay. The room was tastefully decorated, also it had smoke detectors. All the staff were pleasant, welcoming. Location: the hotel was just next door to a cafe and the pub, Wanaka and Greymouth and the pub.

    Needs improvement

I recently stayed at Glenalmond Historic Homestead & Alpine Country Stay during a transit on my travels. The location of this hotel near the nearest airport, Alpine Country Motel, was incredibly convenient. Being just 73 km away, it made my journey smooth and hassle-free. The proximity to the airport allowed me to have a comfortable and stress-free stay before my next adventure.

Although it was clean, the age of the building was evident and would benefit from some renovation.

stayed at this place before, always meets my needs, comfortable and clean, good location for exploring the west coast, well-equipped, friendly hosts, could improve on having a light switch by the bed

    no bedside lamp

My squad and I had a blast chillin' at the hotel and then hitting up the Hotel Triplets entertainment joint and Family fun zone nearby! the vibes were epic, and we couldn't stop the fun train rollin'!

Just one small bummer - it would've been lit if they had a DJ or a karaoke sesh for us all night party peeps!

Comfortable and clean central location for exploring the west coast. Well equipped and spacious living area with a lovely breakfast. The room was modern, quiet, and had a pleasant bathroom with toiletries and nice towels. Convenient self check-in made the process easy.

The views from the windows were amazing, with beautiful landscapes to admire. The hotel was also located in a peaceful and quiet area, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing Christmas break. I also really enjoyed the forest walk behind the accommodation, it was a great way to explore the surroundings and connect with nature.

The accommodation was a bit small for a longer stay, so it may not be the best option if you're planning to stay for a while. Another drawback was the lack of cooking facilities, as there was no hob for cooking.

The location of the hotel is great, close to the glaciers and a pleasant walking track. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with new decor and a good shower cubicle. The motel is well-equipped and centrally located, making it a good base for exploring the west coast. The hosts provided excellent service and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

The motel lacks a light switch or bedside lamp, which would be a small improvement for convenience and comfort.

The rooms at Glenalmond Historic Homestead & Alpine Country Stay are so cozy and comfortable. I loved the seating area and flat-screen TV, perfect for relaxing after a long day of biking. The private bathroom with free toiletries was a nice touch too!

Personally, I didn't need a hairdryer in the private bathroom. But I understand that others may find it useful, so it's just my personal preference.

The lighting in the rooms was a sight to behold. With the bulbs in the overhead fixtures, it felt like a celestial experience, although a tad too bright for comfort. I half expected to see angels reading by those lights, but luckily, the reading lights by the queen bed saved the day with their perfect glow.

    Overhead lighting too bright.
